The Monroe Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners, staff and I, thank you for your interest in our dynamic organization. 

Monroe Housing Authority (MHA) was established under the State of North Carolina’s General Statute 157 through a cooperation agreement with the City of Monroe, North Carolina on June 28, 1966. 

As a leader and innovator, MHA’s goal is to provide quality housing to those who live in our communities or receive assistance through our rental housing programs.  We are committed to excellence in customer service, facilitating a path to our client’s success through partnerships with public and private entities, and applying agency resources to the effective and efficient management and operations of our programs. 

During my tenure as Executive Director and CEO of MHA, we have achieved the designation of High Performer, completed numerous capital improvement projects that will prolong the sustainability of our units, and improve the quality of living for our clients.   With limited funding, we continue to search out partnerships that will help us meet goals.   We’re excited about the future of MHA and the unlimited possibilities for growth and success.  We look forward to continuing our contribution to meeting the affordable housing needs of the citizens of Monroe and Union County.
