Carolyn Canady Joins Monroe Housing Staff

Carolyn Canady - PBV Specialist.

Carolyn Canady recently joined the staff of Monroe Housing serving as PBV Specialist. In this role, Canady will perform Project Based Voucher Specialist task and assist the Property Manager.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Canady relocated back to the Monroe area in November 2023. Carolyn holds Nan McKay certifications for the Section 8 program along with Financial Management and HQS certifications.

With over 23 years of experience, Carolyn brings her Affordable Housing expertise to the agency. Carolyn previously served as the MHA HCV Manager, and Lead Specialist for InLivian Housing Redefined. In these roles, Carolyn maintained caseloads of upwards of 395 participants, completed timely recertifications, interims, lease up and transfers. She was responsible for processing portability paperwork and completing briefings for new admissions. Carolyn most recently served as Property Manager for Millennia Housing Management. In this role, she completed timely recertifications, interims, lease ups and insured property curb appeal was maintained. She also performed quarterly inspections to make sure families were in compliance, collected and posted rent to tenant ledgers, and maintained files for accuracy.

Canady is the mother of one daughter and grandmother of two. During their free time, Canady enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Monroe Housing, established in 1966, provides decent, affordable housing for eligible families through 173 affordable units, 33 RAD-Project Based Vouchers and manages 364 Section 8 and Mainstream Vouchers for area landlords. Monroe Housing is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners.
