Marissa Stanback joins Monroe Housing Staff

MONROE, NC --- Marissa Stanback recently joined the staff of Monroe Housing serving as Deputy Director. In this role, Marissa will oversee day-to-day operations and execute the agency's strategic initiatives.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Marissa relocated to the Monroe area in October 2020. Marissa holds a bachelor's degree in Management from Franklin University and an associate Degree in Real Estate from Columbus State University. Additionally, Marissa holds an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) Certification from The Institute of Real Estate Management and an Assisted Housing Manager (AHM) Certification from Quadel Consulting.

With 23 years of experience, Marissa brings her Affordable Housing expertise to the agency. Prior to joining Monroe Housing, Marissa served as the Property Manager for Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. In this role, Marissa managed multiple public housing sites, directing the day-to-day functions of all administrative and maintenance workflow. Marissa also previously served as the Director of Property Management for Beacon Property Management & Realty. In this role, Marissa oversaw operational and administrative management of 1000+ units and was responsible for monitoring the compliance of all HUD assisted units.

Marissa has 2 children, 2 grandchildren and a spouse, Marvin. During her free time Marissa enjoys relaxing and spending time with family and friends.

Monroe Housing, established in 1966, provides decent, affordable housing for eligible low-income families and the elderly through 173 Public Housing units, 33 RAD-Project Based Vouchers and manages 357 Section 8 and Mainstream Vouchers for area landlords. Monroe Housing is governed by seven Board of Commissioners.
