Your heart is working around the clock for you and is the most important muscle in your body because it pumps blood and oxygen to all of your organs.

Heart disease is also known as coronary heart disease or coronary artery disease. Over time, "plaque" builds up in the arteries that take blood to heart.

What causes plaque?

  • Smoking
  • High blood pressure
  • Too much fat and cholesterol in the blood
  • Too much sugar in the blood

Simple things can improve heart disease

  • Take a 10-minute walk. Regular Walks
  • Eat one extra fruit or vegetable a day. From Apples to Carrots
  • Stop drinking your calories. Cut Out One A Day
  • Count your blessings. No Stressing

Sweat It Out!

As a household, dedicate one day a week to work out together for all of February. It's a short month anyways, so even gym haters can try it out. The habit may even turn into an activity they enjoy instead of loath. The Housing Authority would like you to send photos of your journey if you choose to participate to be featured in our newsletter.
